Kruger — Day 1

Kruger — Dia 1

📍 Kruger National Park, África do Sul

A day to start getting up early. Not as early as we had planned, because the cousins only went to school at 7:00 AM and we still wanted one last hug. We left home, filled up the car, and headed to the border.

We reminisced about the path we had travelled countless times in 2016. Arriving at the border, the usual chaos on the South African side. "On the Mozambique side it's quick because they just stamp, here in South Africa they use a lot of technology," explained our friend Arda Guller, or Zé das Pitas (according to himself).

By 10:00 AM we were entering Kruger Park. It wasn't a day prosperous in Big Five sightings, but it was prosperous in a lot of diversity and quantity of other species. If 10 years ago the boys really liked safari, it was proven that it's like riding a bicycle. Each with their own pair of binoculars, Vasco's 10 minutes of focus used sparingly so as not to waste them, which earned us some of the best sightings. Raul, a machine at co-piloting and using the map.

South African beer also approved. I drank Coca-Cola, I was driving.

The accommodation was approved, despite being very simple. But it was right in the bush and had a small terrace. "One day I'm coming here with my mates," I heard.

At night we still managed to send a video to Aunt Marta, who was celebrating her birthday. We tried to call, but without success. Another important thing: there was no WiFi all day. And we didn't miss it. At least, I didn't.

Day 2: Check.
